Since 2004 I have developed my natural leadership and management skills whilst working with influential UK dance organisations. I am the founder of Dance Mama, and my former roles include; Joint Head of Learning & Participation Rambert (reaching annually over 40,000 participants nationwide), Chair of Dance Woking’s Board of Trustees, Manager for The Place’s Centre for Advanced Training, Dance Artist in Residence at DanceXchange , in addition to managing myself as an ACE-funded independent dance artist.
I am a pioneer of new ideas and projects. A predominant piece of work was my contribution to the development of The Centre for Advanced Training (CAT), London Contemporary Dance School, The Place supported by The Department for Education’s Music and Dance Scheme. As Programme Manager, I grew one of the first National Dance CATs from 20 exceptionally talented students in 2004 to over 80 in 2011; developing the curriculum and building a team of expert staff.
‘Lucy leaves behind a wonderful legacy, born out by the continued success of our CAT graduates – so many of whom have continued into full-time vocational training and onto professional apprenticeships and jobs.’ Kenneth Olumuyiwa Tharp OBE
My grass routes knowledge as a performer, teacher and choreographer combined with my passion and leadership skills allows me to make informed strategic decisions and creative choices in driving projects forward.
