One of the most exciting things on the planet for me is seeing a person’s life change when engaging in dance.
I have had the privilege to see this happen many times in my career, regardless of whether it’s a young person training to be a professional, an adult enjoying dance recreationally or a specialised health condition embracing class for an older adult.
I have taught over 19,000 people since 2002 of all ages and backgrounds across the UK.
Developing people through dance learning and creating opportunities for people to voyage on their journey of dance discovery continues in my freelance capacity, and had influence in reaching over 40,000 participants annually in my former in my role as Head of Talent Progression Research -Children & Young People for Rambert and more as Chair of Dance Woking’s Board.
During my time managing Centre for Advanced Training (CAT), The Place, 100% of students who wished to pursue dance at HE level were successful, and have gone on to train at institutions including; P.A.R.T.S, Rambert School of Ballet & Contemporary Dance, Northern School of Contemporary Dance, TrinityLaban, Central School of Ballet, Rotterdam Academie, London Studio Centre and London Contemporary Dance School. Some now have completed their education and are working professionally with Rambert, Scottish Dance Theatre, Richard Alston Dance Company, New Adventures, BGROUP, ENO, Springs Dance Company, Motionhouse, X-Factor, London’s West-End (Thriller, The Lion King) and Scottish Ballet.
